News: 1 critically hurt in solo-vehicle crash near COTA 

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX – A driver was left in critical condition after they crashed their vehicle near Circuit of Americas (COTA) early Tuesday. 

Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services indicated this collision took place at the Elroy Road and Kellam Road intersection.

ATCEMS, the Austin Fire Department, and Star Flight all responded to the scene after 2 a.m. 

Initially, officials said the driver, the only occupant, was pinned inside their vehicle, but it appeared to have been entrapped instead. Still, fire crews were able to extricate the victim, who was found unconscious. 

Shortly after the rescue, first responders issued a trauma alert for the victim and then transported them to Dell Seton Medical Center, where they are currently recovering. 

Officials have not provided additional commentary surrounding Tuesday’s collision. Still, updates will be posted should they become available.
