News: 1 dead, 1 hospitalized after chase-turned-crash involving Fort Worth ambulance 

AUSTIN, TX – One person died, and another was hospitalized after a chase-turned-crash involving a Fort Worth ambulance took place on Thursday.

According to Fox7Austin, the incident unfolded at 6:30 a.m. when the Texas Department of Transportation was informed of a stolen Fort Worth Fire/EMS ambulance traveling on Interstate 35 South in Williamson County.

A state trooper tried to pull over the suspect, who refused, which led to a pursuit. The suspect then intentionally struck several vehicles on the freeway. Troopers pursued a PIT maneuver to try to stop the suspect. However, the suspect evaded the attempt and crashed into several more vehicles on the freeway.

A state trooper aimed a firearm at the suspect, who died from their injuries. Another person was brought to a hospital by Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services for treatment.
