AUSTIN, TX – One driver was rushed to the hospital after their vehicle crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler and caught on fire along Tesla Road before 2:45 a.m. Friday.
This collision took place between the 1627 to 2721 block of northbound South State Highway 130, according to a tweet from ATCEMS. Fire crews were able to extinguish the flames.

Initially, the motorist who rear-ended the semi was reported to be pinned. However, that later proved to be untrue, and medics did not need to conduct extrication methods. The victim was sent to St. David’s South Medical Center for treatment of potentially serious injuries.
