News: 1 hospitalized following bicycle collision in Cherry Creek

AUSTIN, TX – One person was hospitalized following a bicycle collision that occurred in the Cherry Creek neighborhood on Thursday. 

Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services reported the crash at 12:40 p.m., saying Austin fire crews were also called to the scene. 

First responders did not specify how the collision unfolded, but said the impact of the collision left a “mountain biker down.” The biker appeared to have been pinned either underneath a vehicle or another object and required extrication by the firefighters. 

Officials said the bicyclist was extricated and was taken to South Austin for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

A full investigation is underway.
