News: 1 killed, 1 hurt in TX 71 head-on crash in Spicewood

SPICEWOOD, TX – One driver died, and another was injured in a head-on crash that happened on TX 71 Thursday afternoon.

CBS Austin said the events unfolded around 2:30 p.m. when the driver of a vehicle veered off westbound TX 71 and into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a diesel tanker truck.

The vehicle driver died at the scene, and the tanker truck driver was left with non-life-threatening injuries.

The deceased man has since been identified as 19-year-old Quincy Jette.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the details behind the fatal collision.
