News: 1 killed, 3 seriously hurt in Colton crash involving entrapment

AUSTIN, TX – Three people were sent to the hospital for serious wounds, and one person succumbed to fatal injuries after a pin-in crash in the Colton area Thursday. 

Before 7 a.m., Austin Travis County Emergency Services were summoned to the 7800 block of U.S. 183 Highway South near East William Cannon Drive. One vehicle with an attached trailer was found rolled over.

Fire crews were able to free two pinned occupants using “heavy lifting techniques.”  One of those patients, one was transported via ambulance to the St. David’s South Medical Center. The second pinned patient was flown via Star Flight, along with a third patient, to the same hospital–both with “potentially serious injuries.”

A fourth victim who was initially reported unconscious was pronounced dead at the scene.
