News: 1 killed, 4 hurt in multi-vehicle wreck on U.S. 183

AUSTIN, TX – One person died and another four were hospitalized for serious injuries following a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday in the 9810 block of U.S. 183 Highway. 

The collision happened around 4 p.m. in the highway’s southbound lanes near Maha Loop Road, according to ATCEMS. One person became pinned in their vehicle and required extrication.

First responders airlifted one adult to South Austin Medical Center for treatment of critical-life-threatening injuries, while two teenagers and two children were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with serious injuries.
