News: 1 killed, another hospitalized following SW Austin head-on collision 

SOUTHWEST AUSTIN, TX – One person was killed, and another was hospitalized following a Wednesday night head-on collision.

Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services first reported the crash at 9:45 p.m., saying it took place on the 10700th block of West U.S. 290 near Fitzhugh Road. There was a motorcycle and a vehicle that collided head-on.

The impact of the crash led to one person’s death. The other, who survived, was sent to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Officials are working to determine the cause of the crash.
