NORTH AUSTIN, TX – One person died from their injuries as a result of a wrong-way crash between a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck on Thursday.
The collision took place around 2:15 a.m. on the 12200th block of North Interstate Highway 35, KVUE reports. Preliminary details show that the driver of the passenger vehicle was driving the wrong way when they collided head-on with the truck.
The vehicle driver died from their injuries at the scene. Police and transportation crews shut down the area and redirected traffic to Tech Ridge Boulevard.
All lanes reopened before 8 a.m.
Police have not released the victim’s identity or specified why the victim drove the wrong way.
