News: 1 seriously hurt, teen in jail after pursuit-turned-crash in Manor

MANOR, TX – A 17-year-old male was booked into the Travis County Jail in connection with a pursuit-turned-crash that seriously injured one driver on Thursday.

Texas Department of Public Safety told CBSAustin that the incident unfolded at 12:45 p.m. on FM 973. That’s where a DPS trooper tried to pull over the 17-year-old for speeding.

The teenager refused to stop and continued driving, prompting a chase. The pursuit ended when the 17-year-old male crashed his Chrysler 300 into a Lexus SUV on Blake Manor Road. One of the vehicles then caught on fire, according to a photo from the source.

The teenager tried to run away from the crash on foot, but was immediately apprehended.

First responders took the teenager and the other driver, who suffered serious injuries, to a local hospital.

The teenager was released from the hospital and then booked into the county jail. He is facing several charges related to the crash, which include evading arrest.
