News: 3 adults, 2 children killed in multi-vehicle collision in Marble Falls

MARBLE FALLS, TX – Three adults and two children lost their lives to a multi-vehicle collision in Marble Falls on Sunday, KXAN reports.

The three-vehicle crash happened before 5 p.m. on the 3100th block of South U.S. Highway 281. Preliminary details show that a pickup truck driver was going north when he veered into the southbound lanes.

The pickup truck driver, later identified as 80-year-old Antonio Lara, a Lago Vista resident, then sideswiped the back of a white BMW. That initial collision pushed the northbound BMW into the southbound lanes, which collided head-on with a silver Hyundai.

Lara and the five passengers in the Hyundai succumbed to their injuries. They were identified as a 3-year-old child, a 5-year-old child, 50-year-old Roxanne Mowrey, and 55-year-old Ron Dykes.

Marble Falls Police said the BMW driver sustained minor injuries, but reported no injuries for the Hyundai driver.

Police have started an investigation and reported no citations.
