NORTH AUSTIN, TX – Four people sustained injuries, and a woman in her 50s lost her life after a head-on crash on the 9909 block of North Lamar Boulevard Sunday.
Austin emergency crews responded to this wreck before 3:45 a.m., KVUE reported. They initially said only two vehicles were involved. However, they later confirmed that there was another vehicle involved that left the scene. Police were able to locate the motorist and arrested him or her. Still, officials did not specify pending charges for this hit-and-run driver.
First responders declared the woman in her 50s dead on the scene but have yet to release her name. Three occupants suffered potentially serious injuries, two of whom were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center and one sent to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center. The fourth victim sustained minor wounds and declined to be taken to an area hospital.
Officials have yet to indicate what exactly caused this fatal collision. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
