AUSTIN, TX – Four people were hurt, two critically, Monday evening as a result of a collision on Interstate 35 near northeast Austin, according to CBS Austin.
The major crash happened in the 13100 block of the southbound highway, near Howard Lane. Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire Department crews were dispatched to the scene at about 8:07 p.m.
While the cause of the wreck remains under investigation, first responders arrived to find that four people were involved. Two adult patients were rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center for critical injuries. Two other patients whose injuries were deemed non-life-threatening declined transport to a hospital.
A section of southbound I-35 was shut down during the emergency response. Motorists in the area were advised of delays.
