SAN MARCOS, TX – Police arrested a 24-year-old man for DUI after causing a serious collision that sent five pedestrians to a hospital Thursday.
KUVE said the 24-year-old man, identified as Enrique Gutierrez-Field, had allegedly struck six pedestrians while they were crossing the intersection of East Hopkins Street & North LBJ Drive. San Marcos Police and EMS crews responded to the scene after 1 a.m.
The sixth pedestrian was injured, while the five other pedestrians were hurried to nearby hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers said Gutierrez-Field will face several criminal charges but have not commented on the specifics of those charges at this time.
