AUSTIN, TX – Authorities responded to a collision late Tuesday morning on the North Mopac Expressway in north Austin, according to the Austin-Travis County Traffic Report Page.
The accident was reported between the 8200 and 8236 block of the southbound service road near Steck Avenue. Dispatchers first received the call at about 11:50 a.m.
While Austin Police Department officials have not shared specific details about the vehicles involved and the circumstances of the event, the incident was listed as “Crash Urgent” indicating likely minor injuries to at least one person. The classification is also typically used to signal a crash scene that is blocking a secondary, non-high speed roadway, or a scene that may have occurred on a high speed roadway but is no longer blocking traffic.
At this time, it remains unclear whether anyone is expected to be charged or cited for their role in the wreck.
