News: Accident reported on Research Blvd in NE Austin

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police Department officers were called to a collision Monday afternoon in the city’s North Burnet area, according to the Austin-Travis County Traffic Report Page.

The incident was reported at 9063 Research Boulevard Service Road near Burnet Road and the ramps to the MoPac Expressway. Dispatchers first received the call at about 3:09 p.m.

Little information has been made available at this time, but officials described the event as a “Crash Urgent,” indicating that minor injuries are suspected. The classification is also used to signal crashes that may have occurred on a HSR (high speed roadway), but which have either been moved to the shoulder or to a secondary, non-high speed roadway.

As of this writing, it’s unclear how many vehicles were involved and whether anyone is expected to be charged or cited.
