AUSTIN, TX – Austin police have released the identity of a woman who was fatally struck by a vehicle on North Lamar Boulevard on Sunday.
KXAN reports that Margaret Govea was hit in the 8500 block of North Lamar shortly before 11:20 p.m. on August 9. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. They have not been charged at this time.
Ms Govea’s death is believed to be the city’s 50th traffic fatality of the year.
