News: APD investigates multi-vehicle wreck with big rig on I-35 

AUSTIN, TX – The Austin Police Department is investigating the details behind a multi-vehicle wreck with injuries involving a big rig on I-35 South Friday.

KXAN said the five-vehicle crash happened before 6:00 a.m. on the 1800th block of the interstate. Austin Transportation and the Texas Department of Transportation were summoned to the accident scene. After arriving, authorities shut down at least three lanes and the shoulder for the clean-up process.

Authorities said at least one person was injured as a result of the collision. However, the extent of injuries sustained and reports of hospitalizations have not been added.
