AUSTIN, TX – Austin ISD police chief Wayne Sneed, who was injured in a motorcycle-vehicle crash last month, has been released from the hospital this week, Fox7Austin reports.
This comes as an update in connection with our previous reporting. The crash happened at around 8:30 p.m. on June 2 off West U.S. 290 and the MoPac Service ramp. Sneed, who was riding a motorcycle, was escorting Superintendent Matias Segura (traveling inside a vehicle) from a graduation ceremony that was held at the Burger Center in South Austin.
Another Austin ISD police officer, also riding a motorcycle, had struck Sneed with his bike.
Sneed suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s unclear whether that other officer was cited or suspended from police duties.
