News: Austin motorcycle crashes leaves 1 dead, another injured

AUSTIN, TX – First responders were called to two separate motorcycle collisions involving an injury and fatality in Austin Sunday night. 

The first crash took place before 8:30 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of the 5100 block of East State Highway 71, according to ATCEMS. Upon arrival, first responders discovered that the motorcyclist had succumbed to fatal injuries and declared the victim dead at the scene.

The second motorcycle crash occurred on the 11300 block of Burnet Road after 10:30 p.m. The motorcyclist suffered critical, life-threatening injuries and was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center. The person’s current condition is unknown.

No other vehicles were involved in these motorcycle accidents. 

Officials did not specify the causes of these wrecks or have released the names of the motorcyclists. Updates will be posted as they become available.
