News: Auto fire blocks I-35, Oltorf St. interchange in SE Austin 

SOUTHEAST AUSTIN, TX – A vehicle fire is currently blocking a left lane at the southbound I-35 and Oltorf Street interchange, according to the Total Traffic Austin team.

Crews said that traffic delays are heading towards East 51st Street. Drivers approaching the area may want to consider exiting off North Interstate 35 Frontage Road or, if possible, avoid the area altogether, as officials have not announced when the scene should clear and when the lane closure will be lifted. 

In the meantime, local fire crews are doing all they can to extinguish the flames, but they have not confirmed whether the fire was caused by mechanical issues or resulted from a crash.
