News: Child killed, 2 others injured in head-on collision in Coupland 

COUPLAND, TX – A 9-year-old child died, and two others were injured in a head-on collision in Coupland on Tuesday, KXAN reports.

Texas Department of Public Safety said that around 4:45 p.m., a driver of a Toyota was driving on State Highway 95 in a no-pass zone and attempted to overtake a vehicle in front of them, and ended up colliding head-on with a Tesla passenger vehicle.

The impact of the crash led a Tesla passenger, a 9-year-old child, to die from their injuries. The Coupland Independent School District confirmed the child was one of their own third-grade students.

The two other Tesla passengers and the Toyota driver sustained unspecified injuries and were rushed to a hospital.

No citations or criminal charges have been reported for the Toyota driver at this time.
