News: Collision closes lane on southbound US-183 in north Austin

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities were dispatched to a vehicle accident late Tuesday morning, July 23, on U.S. Highway 183 in north Austin, according to KXAN.

The wreck happened on the southbound highway past Spicewood Springs Road, near the city’s Barrington Oaks neighborhood. It was first reported shortly before 12:00 p.m.

Very few details have been made available, but the center southbound lane was blocked in the immediate aftermath, and the closure was expected to remain in place until 12:27 p.m.

As of this writing, local agencies have not confirmed any injuries and/or hospitalizations. It’s also unclear how many vehicles were involved and whether charges are expected to be filed.
