AUSTIN, TX – A local car wash is rallying community support for two employees who were tragically killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Christmas Eve, CBS Austin reports.
The collision occurred on US Highway 79 in Milam County when a pickup truck towing a homemade utility trailer crossed into oncoming traffic. Cooper Elsik, 18, and Brooke Patton, 17, who were on their way to Santa’s Wonderland were both killed.
Both victims worked at Soapy Falls Express Car Wash in Round Rock. Co-owner Montana Murrell and manager Tristan Perez both expressed devastation about the tragedy.
Soapy Falls is now planning a fundraiser on January 3 with all sales from their Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Hutto locations going to the victims’ families.
