News: Driver fatally hits pedestrian in Hyde Park 

AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian was crossing the 4900th block of northbound I-35 in the Hyde Park area and was hit by a vehicle, leading to their death Saturday. 

Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services received this call after 5 a.m. Upon arrival, they confirmed that the pedestrian succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene.

At the time of reporting, local first responders did close the intersection to accommodate the scene clearance and investigation process. 

Police have not commented on whether the driver or pedestrian had the right of way at the time of the collision. In addition, they did not confirm if the driver will face charges or citations for their involvement in this crash and have not released the pedestrian’s identity.
