News: Driver fatally hits pedestrian in Hyde Park 

AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian lost their life after they were hit by a vehicle at the East 45th Street and Airport Boulevard junction in the Hyde Park district on Thursday. 

Austin Travis County Emergency Services, the Austin Police Department, and the Austin Fire Department arrived at the scene before 9:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, first responders conducted CPR on the victim. However, despite best efforts on their end, the pedestrian succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. 

Following the collision, authorities closed off the intersection to accommodate the investigation and the scene clearance process. They have not specified the sequence of events leading up to this and are withholding the name of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
