SOUTH AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries after getting struck by a vehicle in the South Congress neighborhood Saturday.
Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services reported the pedestrian crash at 10:14 p.m. They said the vehicle driver struck the pedestrian at the intersection of Orlando Boulevard and South 1st Street.

The pedestrian was left in critical condition and was given CPR by ATCEMS. Despite their best efforts, the pedestrian died from their injuries at the scene.
Austin fire crews also responded to the scene. Officials shut down the roads to accommodate the scene clean-up process.
Law enforcement is investigating the details behind the fatal crash.
