SOUTH AUSTIN, TX – A bicyclist succumbed to fatal wounds when they were struck by a driver of an unspecified vehicle in the South Congress area Wednesday.
Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services and the Austin Fire Department were summoned to the 5500th block of South Congress Avenue, arriving before 12:45 a.m.

Upon arrival, first responders shut down the area and advised drivers to seek alternative routes.
At this time, officials have not issued a formal statement regarding the specifics behind Thursday’s wreck nor released the victim’s name.
