BASTROP, TX – A pedestrian died after getting hit by a vehicle on the 3000 block of westbound SH 71 around 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Despite best efforts from medics, the pedestrian succumbed to fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to ATCEMS.

It is not immediately clear what led to this collision and if the driver will face charges. Officials have also not released the pedestrian’s name.
