EAST AUSTIN, TX – A driver was arrested for DWI after causing a collision that resulted in power outages for hundreds of people in East Austin Wednesday.
Austin Police told KVUE that the collision happened around 1:15 a.m. East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The alleged intoxicated driver had lost control of their black colored truck, which caused them to crash into a red pickup truck and an electric pole. Moments later, the pole’s transformer exploded on site.
The red pickup truck was parked on the street. There were no occupants inside of the pickup truck at the time of the collision.
No one appeared to have sustained any injuries.
