NORTH AUSTIN, TX – A driver of a vehicle crashed into a fixed object, leading the automobile to catch on fire and claiming the life of one person Saturday.
Austin Travis County Emergency Services said this single-vehicle collision happened before 11:45 a.m. in the 8400 block of Research Boulevard South. One person was trapped as a result. There was no confirmation of any conducted extrication methods. Officials also did not clarify if it was the trapped person who succumbed to fatal wounds or if it was another occupant who passed away.

At this time, first responders have not released the name of the deceased person nor revealed the events leading up to this crash.
