News: Improper lane change causes fatal multi-vehicle wreck in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX – One driver made an unsafe lane change Tuesday afternoon, causing a four-vehicle wreck that claimed one life and sent two people to the hospital, reports CBS Austin. 

The crash, which happened on FM 1431, prompted a response from Texas Department of Transportation (DPS) troopers at about 12:34 p.m.

Officials said one vehicle was traveling west when its driver conducted the improper maneuver, impacting three other vehicles. 

One of the involved drivers died at the scene, and a child who was traveling with them was hospitalized for unspecified injuries. 

Another driver who suffered minor injuries was taken to a local hospital. The two other drivers were not reported hurt. 

No other details were immediately available.
