News: Investigators seek hit-and-run driver after fatal pedestrian crash in SW Austin

AUSTIN, TX – The Austin Police Department is asking the public to come forward with any information regarding a suspect who fled a pedestrian collision Sunday, November 3, in southwest Austin that claimed a woman’s life, according to a City of Austin press release issued on Thursday, November 21.

The fatal incident took place in the 600 block of eastbound West Ben White Boulevard at around 7:35 p.m.

The APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit said the suspect vehicle was leaving the parking lot of the nearby 7-Eleven and getting onto northbound 1st Street when, at one point, it struck a female pedestrian. The vehicle was then observed fleeing the scene using eastbound Ben White Boulevard.

First responders rushed the victim to an area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
