AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police have announced a complete shutdown of the northbound lanes of the upper deck of Interstate 35 just north of the deck split following a crash involving an 18-wheeler.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on the upper deck near Manor Road.

According to the authorities, the driver of the 18-wheeler is safe, and there were no other vehicles involved in the crash. The 18-wheeler has been removed from the scene, but the interstate remains closed as of 9:45 a.m. due to the debris that needs to be cleared.

The closure of the northbound lanes of the upper deck of Interstate 35 has caused significant traffic congestion, and commuters are advised to seek alternate routes.

This is a developing story, and more details will be provided as they become available.
