SOUTH AUSTIN, TX – A 30-year-old man was charged with intoxication manslaughter in connection with a serious two-vehicle crash that killed a 2-year-old girl on Sunday.
The two-vehicle crash happened before 10 p.m. on the 2700th block of South Lamar Boulevard, according to KXAN. The 30-year-old man, identified as Keegan Shirley, was driving a pickup truck when he collided with an SUV.
ATCEMS rushed two SUV passengers, including the 2-year-old girl, to a hospital. There, the girl died, and the other passenger received treatment for serious injuries.
It’s unclear if Shirley was hurt, but he was arrested. His specific charge is intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.
Police closed a portion of South Lamar Boulevard for several hours to accommodate the scene clean-up process and overall investigation.
