TRAVIS COUNTY, TX – A motorcyclist’s life was claimed in a hit-and-run crash near Colton before midnight Saturday.
According to CBS Austin, a driver of what officials believe to be a 2014 to 2018 Cadillac Escalade hit a motorcyclist at the intersection of South Highway 183 and Farm to Market Road 973.
The Cadillac driver did not stay at the collision site or render aid. The suspect then drove off, dragging the 2003 Suzuki motorcycle under the vehicle near the SH 45 on-ramp.
The motorcyclist, an unidentified 44-year-old man, succumbed to fatal injuries.
Officials said they obtained this information based on details from an eyewitness. Upon arrival, they discovered a “plastic piece from a GM headlamp” at the scene. They are actively looking for the suspect.
The public is advised to contact local authorities should they have more information regarding Saturday’s fatal collision.
