AUSTIN, TX – A motorcyclist’s life was claimed in a crash with two vehicles that occurred near Decker Lake on Tuesday, Fox7Austin said.
Preliminary details reveal that after 5 a.m., the motorcyclist, who was traveling north on TX-130 Toll, experienced a rear-end tire blowout, which caused them to lose control of their bike and be ejected in the process.
The motorcycle came to rest on the shoulder, and the motorcyclist was struck by an SUV and a Tesla operating in autopilot mode.
The motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries.
The SUV driver initially fled the scene, but returned to the scene sometime later. Travis County deputies charged them with failure to stop and render aid.
A full investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety is underway.
