AUSTIN, TX – An Austin police officer sustained non-life-threatening wounds in a rear-end crash caused by a driver suspected of impairment near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
This collision happened Sunday morning on Texas State Highway 71 before Presidential Drive, according to CBS Austin. The officer is recovering at a local hospital, and the driver was booked into custody for alleged drunk driving.
First responders closed the eastbound lanes to accommodate the scene clearance procedure and investigation. However, all lanes have reopened since.
