AUSTIN, TX – Authorities responded to a fatal pedestrian collision Tuesday night on North Interstate 35 near Austin’s North Loop neighborhood, reports CBS Austin.
The incident occurred in the 5700 block of the southbound North Interstate Highway 35, in an area between the U.S. Route 290 and Airport Boulevard exits. Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire were on the scene at about 9:45 p.m.
Preliminary details shared by ATCEMS indicate a pedestrian, described only as an adult, was struck by a vehicle in the area, where they then succumbed to their injuries.
Motorists were instructed to find alternate routes as first responders continued to work the scene.
Officials did not immediately disclose any information about the involved driver, but an investigation remains ongoing.
