News: Pedestrian fatally hit by vehicle on S IH-35 in NE Austin

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities responded to a collision early Sunday on Interstate State Highway 35 in northeast Austin that claimed the life of a pedestrian, according to KVUE.

The fatal incident unfolded in the 8900 block of the northbound highway, near the city’s Windsor Acres area. Officers with the Austin Police Department were dispatched to the scene just after 4:00 a.m.

While the events leading up to the crash remain under investigation, officials say the involved driver failed to remain at the site and render aid.

First responders pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The APD urges anyone with information about the event or hit-and-run driver to come forward.
