DOWNTOWN AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian lost his life as a result of a hit-and-run crash in Downtown Austin on Friday, Austin Police said.
The pedestrian, an unidentified Hispanic male, was walking on the 600th block of North Interstate 35 Service Road South when they were struck by a 2011-2015 gray or silver Hyundai Sonata.
The driver fled the scene prior to the first responders’ arrival.
Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services conducted CPR on the pedestrian before transporting him to a hospital, where he later died.
Austin Police noted that the suspect’s vehicle has front-end damage and a missing right headlight.
A full investigation is underway.
