News: Pedestrian hit, injured by school bus at Cedar Park intersection

CEDAR PARK, TX – Authorities have confirmed that a pedestrian was injured early December when they were hit by a Leander ISD school bus in Cedar Park, according to FOX 7 Austin.

Cedar Park Police said the incident occurred at the corner of East Whitestone Boulevard and Discovery Boulevard on December 9, at about 6:35 a.m.

Details remain limited, but video footage taken from the bus and provided by Leander ISD Transportation Office indicate the pedestrian was wearing a blue jacket during the time, and the weather condition was rainy and dark.

While investigators determined that the bus driver was unable to see the victim prior to the crash, the driver was still cited for a failure to yield to the pedestrian’s right of way. No charges have been filed.
