News: Pedestrian hospitalized following crash along COTA 

DEL VALLE, TX – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle along Circuit of Americas (COTA) and then sent to a Travis County hospital for treatment Tuesday. 

Austin Travis County Emergency Services were dispatched after 3 a.m. to FM 812 Road just before Piland Triangle. Upon arrival, they found the victim to be unconscious and conducted CPR measures on the pedestrian, who was going into cardiac arrest.

First responders had then issued a trauma alert for the victim and initially summoned STAR Flight to the scene due to the severe state of the person. However, they soon canceled this service and instead transported the person to St. David’s South Medical Center via an ambulance, where they are recovering. 

Authorities have not disclosed whether impairment, speed, tiredness, or distracted driving played a part in this serious crash. In addition, they disclosed no pending charges or the current condition of the victim.
