AUSTIN, TX – A four-year-old girl lost her life after a three-vehicle collision that involved an Austin police car in the Quail Creek area last Monday, March 10.
According to the Austin Police Department, one of their own officers was responding to an emergency call in the 8900th block of North Lamar Boulevard. The specifics behind what happened are unclear, but someone alleged that someone was going to shoot a firearm. As the officer drove, with sirens activated, another driver collided with the officer’s vehicle.
A third automobile was involved, but it’s unclear if the third driver struck the officer or the civilian vehicle. Nonetheless, Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services were quick to arrive at the scene and take the four-year-old girl, the adult with the girl, and the officer to area hospitals. The girl later died. The officer was left in serious condition while the woman was recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
The police department started an investigation. They advise the public to contact them should they have more information about last Monday’s wreck.
