AUSTIN, TX – A driver of a Kia succumbed to fatal wounds when he ran a red light and struck a semi-tractor in the West Oak Hill area on Friday, October 18th.
Texas Department of Public Safety’s Highway Patrol division arrived at the collision site after 7 a.m., according to Fox7Austin. Following the crash, troopers declared the man dead at the scene.
The victim has since been identified as 53-year-old Tracy Daspit, an Austin local, additional information from a local obituary source reveals.
Troopers confirmed that the truck driver remained at the scene. Authorities started an investigation but have not released other information.
