AUSTIN, TX – Two people were sent to a hospital after a driver crashed into a tree near Circuit of Americas (COTA) Sunday.
Austin Travis County Emergency Services said the collision, reported after 4:30 p.m., happened on the 1600 block of Fagerquist Road. The force of the crash led one to get pinned inside their vehicle. The person was extricated.

After the person was freed, one occupant was taken via an ambulance to St. David’s South Medical Center for treatment of potentially serious injuries.
Another occupant was flown by a STARFlight helicopter to an area hospital for treatment of wounds deemed serious and potentially life-threatening.
First responders have not confirmed what led to this collision or provided an update on the current conditions of the injured parties.
