SCHERTZ, TX – Schertz police were summoned to the scene of a crash between an Amtrak train and a semi-truck transporting rocks on Tuesday.
Police told Fox7Austin that around 8 a.m., an Amtrak train had crashed into the truck as it was crossing the intersection of FM 482 and Solams Quarry Road.
Police said there were 129 Amtrak passengers and nine Amtrak crew members on board, while the truck driver was the sole occupant of their vehicle. Despite the nature of the collision, all of them were spared from injuries.
There was no train derailment as a result of the crash.
An investigation is fully underway.
