DOWNTOWN AUSTIN, TX – A scooter rider lost their life to a hit-and-run collision that happened last Saturday, Oct. 18, along the Texas Capitol, Fox7Austin said.
Preliminary details show that the scooter rider, a 33-year-old man, was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of E. 11th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard. The driver immediately fled the scene.
Austin police and EMS crews responded to the scene after 11 p.m. Ambulance crews took the scooter rider to a hospital. He was initially left in critical condition and died the next day, on Sunday. Oct. 19.
The scooter rider has since been identified as Khaled Saadeddine.
The suspect was driving a dark-colored truck, as shown on the source’s website. Police are asking the public to identify the suspect.
A full investigation is underway.
