News: Several hurt as semi hits two vehicles at red light in Leander 

LEANDER, TX – A driver of a flat-bed semi-truck carrying scaffolding struck two vehicles waiting at a red light, leading several people to sustain injuries last Thursday. 

This collision, which was reported before 1:30 p.m. at the U.S. 183 and Sonny Drive junction, happened as the drivers of the two vehicles were preparing to turn onto westbound Sonny Drive, CBS Austin reported. 

Leander Police confirmed at least one person suffered life-threatening wounds, although they did not specify if that individual was hospitalized.

Officers and crews shut down the area for a few hours for the standard investigation and clean-up process before lifting all closures just before 4:30 p.m.
