AUSTIN, TX – Austin police are currently on the hunt for a suspect in connection to a hit-and-run crash that injured a scooter rider last month.
According to FoxAustin7, the collision occurred after 6 p.m. on Nov. 10 at the intersection of Mesa Drive and Rockford Lane.
The suspect, who was driving a white Volkswagen SUV, struck the scooter rider while turning onto Rockford Lane.
The suspect did not render aid or call 911 and immediately fled the scene. Police believe the suspect weighs between 160 and 170 pounds and is 5’8 to 5’10. Officials believe he has a red or auburn goatee that goes down to his chest and indicated that he has a “thick Southern accent.”
Anyone who has more information on the suspect’s whereabouts or who can provide more information about the crash is asked to contact officials at the phone number listed in the source. Members of the public may be eligible for a $1,000 reward if they can provide any information that leads to the suspect’s arrest.
